Privacy Policy

Overview

PlayGrid lets you sign in with Google and play your YouTube playlists in a grid-based player. PlayGrid requests read-only YouTube access. It does not modify, delete, upload, or publish anything to your YouTube account.

Google Data PlayGrid Accesses

• Your basic Google profile information, such as name and email.
• Your YouTube playlist metadata, such as playlist IDs and titles.
• YouTube playlist video metadata, such as video IDs, titles, thumbnails, and playlist positions.

Data PlayGrid Stores

• Playlist IDs you pin or save in PlayGrid.
• Burn After Watching history, including video ID, playlist ID, title, thumbnail URL, and the time a video was marked watched.
• A privacy-preserving user identifier derived from your Google account email address.
• On this device, a first-party cookie stores your current playlist, video, and playback time so PlayGrid can resume before rendering the player. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

How Data Is Used

PlayGrid uses this data only to provide app features: showing your playlists, playing selected videos, remembering pinned playlists, and hiding locally watched Burn After Watching videos.

Google User Data Sharing and Disclosure

PlayGrid does not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to any third party, person, organization, or other external recipient. PlayGrid does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising.

Data Security and Protection

PlayGrid uses HTTPS and HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to encrypt data in transit, including Google user data transmitted between your browser and PlayGrid. Its connections to Google APIs and production storage services also use HTTPS.

Protected PlayGrid endpoints require an authenticated session. OAuth client credentials, application secrets, and storage credentials are kept in access-controlled deployment environment variables rather than in application source code.

PlayGrid also uses browser security controls including a Content Security Policy, restrictions against embedding the app in other sites, content-type and referrer protections, and disabled camera, microphone, and location permissions. PlayGrid limits stored Google user data to the information needed for the features described in this policy and stores it using access-controlled production infrastructure.

No system can guarantee absolute security. PlayGrid reviews and updates its safeguards as the app changes.

Data Retention and Deletion

PlayGrid retains saved playlist IDs, watched history, and the derived account identifier while they are needed to provide the app's features or until you delete your PlayGrid data. The playback-position cookie remains on your device until it is cleared, replaced, or removed through PlayGrid's deletion control.

Deleting your PlayGrid data removes the saved playlist IDs and watched history associated with your signed-in account and clears the playback-position cookie on the device where you perform the deletion. Revoking PlayGrid in your Google Account prevents future Google API access but does not by itself delete data already stored by PlayGrid.

Google API Limited Use

PlayGrid's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Remove Your Data

You can delete PlayGrid-stored data for your signed-in account here. This removes PlayGrid's saved playlist IDs, watched history, and this device's playback-position cookie. It does not delete anything from YouTube and does not revoke Google access.

You can also revoke PlayGrid's Google access from your Google Account permissions page.
