Troubleshooting

Last updated: April 25, 2026

Owned playlists are missing

PlayGrid uses the YouTube Data API to load playlists owned by the signed-in YouTube channel. Some Google accounts can use YouTube and create playlists before they have created a YouTube channel. In that state, YouTube may show playlists on youtube.com, but the YouTube Data API returns no channel and no owned playlists.

Open the YouTube account menu. If it shows Create a channel, create a channel for that account and then refresh PlayGrid.

You can also add the playlist manually in PlayGrid by clicking + in Pinned Playlists and pasting the YouTube playlist URL.

Watch Later is missing

YouTube treats Watch Later as a special private list. PlayGrid may not be able to discover it automatically. For one-time watching, create a regular playlist such as Burn After Watching, or pin a playlist URL that PlayGrid can access.

Sign-in loops or expires

If Google sign-in keeps expiring, make sure you are using the current PlayGrid domain and that your Google account has granted PlayGrid access to view your YouTube account.

Still stuck?

Contact dachuan.zhang@gmail.com with the Google account email, what you expected to see, and whether YouTube shows Create a channel in the account menu.
